Anyone have any experience with Williams & Williams home auctions? Scam or not? Any good tips?

I found a home that I would like to bid on but I am wary of this process. I would like to do this without an agent but from what I have read online there may or may not be some funny stuff going on with Williams & Williams home auctions. Any experiences or tips would be warmly welcomed by this potential first time home buyer. Thanks!
