Bedding for a guinea pig cage?

I'm putting a cloth bedding down onto the bottom of my guinea pig's cage, and I'm wondering if felt would work as well as fleece would. I have large bolt of felt that my grandma gave me to use, so I'm wondering- Would it be a bad idea? Could they use it? How much harm would it do if they nommed on it a little bit?
